1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Pick Up ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Pick Up is a mobile application for tracking reading progress, recording voice reflections, and managing your personal reading library. The App offers both free and premium features.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
You may use the App without creating an account. However, certain features (like cloud sync) require account creation and are available only to Premium subscribers.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Premium Subscription
4.1 Subscription Plans
Pick Up offers subscription plans (monthly and annual) that unlock premium features including:
• Unlimited books and reflections
• Cloud sync across devices
• Voice transcription of voice reflections
• Advanced analytics and insights
• Premium Year in Review templates
4.2 Billing
Subscriptions are billed through your app store account (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Billing occurs at the start of your subscription and renews automatically unless cancelled.
4.3 Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your app store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
4.4 Refunds
Refund policies are governed by the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Generally, subscriptions are non-refundable, but you may request a refund through your app store within their specified time frames.
5. User Content
5.1 Ownership
You retain all rights to your reading data, reflections, and voice recordings. We do not claim ownership of your content.
5.2 License
By using the App, you grant us a license to store, process, and sync your data as necessary to provide our services.
5.3 Prohibited Content
You may not use the App to store or share:
• Illegal content
• Copyrighted material you don't have rights to
• Spam or malicious code
• Content that violates privacy rights or is harmful
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Pick Up only for personal reading tracking. You may not:
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data
• Share your Premium account with others
• Attempt to hack or circumvent security measures
• Use the App for commercial purposes without permission
7. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services (Supabase, RevenueCat, Whisper API, etc.). These services have their own terms of service. Your use of these services through the App is subject to their terms.
8. Intellectual Property
Pick Up's design, code, and branding are our intellectual property. Book covers and metadata are sourced from Open Library and other public APIs.
You may not:
• Copy or redistribute the App
• Use our branding without permission
• Create derivative works based on the App
9. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Accuracy of book metadata from third-party APIs
• Compatibility with all devices
• Data backup or recovery
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING DATA LOSS.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these terms. Reasons for termination include:
• Violation of these terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse of service or support
• Non-payment of subscription fees
You can delete your account at any time through the app settings.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to you via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration.
